The premiere evening of the performance took place on May 7, 2025, at the Château de Saint-Jean de Beauregard.
Le Parisien shares the first impressions of the audience:

*"The wooden shutters opened before the immense windows plunge the Château de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard (Essonne) into the dimness of an late 18th-century evening. Unfazed, a footman in livery invites about thirty spectators to pass through creaking doors into the ballroom, illuminated by candlelight.

Powdered faces, perfectly styled wigs, and the dignified bearing of the occasion—the two hosts lead them in a quadrille as if they were their true guests, soon joined by other actors in period costume.
Welcome to Le Bal des Ombres, an 'immersive investigative performance' custom-created by the company Les Imagités and supported by Essonne Tourisme."*

"…Beyond the writing, the true thrill of the piece lies in the vertigo that grips the spectator when choosing which scene to attend. One may find oneself alone in a sumptuous dining room, suddenly face-to-face with a heartbroken baron storming out of a conversation continuing in the library. Or overhear a whispered mass performed in the intimacy of a private cabinet."

You are not just a visitor, but an active participant in a thrilling mystery, like a life-sized Cluedo. At Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard, in Essonne, a one-of-a-kind performance, Le Bal des Ombres, invites the curious to dive into an immersive investigation where every detail matters.
